Ashlee Simpson angers fans and Marie Claire editor · Aug 10, 06:07 AM by Jerry Deet
It was just 2 months ago that Ashlee Simpson was interviewed by Marie Claire, placing herself as a champion of natural good looks and woman’s self acceptance.
As part of her interview the magazines writers spent the day with Ashlee while she painted a pro-feminine mural with the help of some local underpriviledged female students.
Her message was so strong that Dennis Hensley a writer for Marie Claire said this She’s had it with Hollywood’s twisted view of feminine beauty. Her goal: to get women to appreciate their diverse shapes and sizes,” in the magazines article and also qouted Ashlee Simpson saying “Everyone is made differently, and that’s what makes us beautiful and unique. I want girls to look in the mirror and feel confident.”
Somehow by the time the magazine containing her interview hit the presses, Ashlee had a very very different look, showing off blonde extensions and… a brand spanking new nose job.
Joanna Coles, an editor at Marie Claire, recieved over one thousand very angry letters regarding their article and was moved to expand the readers mail section in their September magazine to allow her readers to vent.
